Election 2006: The First Returns

Two signs of an impending Dem triumph.

• In Kentucky, with almost half of all precincts in, incumbent Republican Ann Northup in a tight race with Democrat John Yarmuth for a House seat. Right now it's 49% to 49%. How close this race is bodes well for Dems as Northup was seen as strong. RESULTS

• GOPer John Hostettler is being drubbed by Dem Brad Ellsworth. Not many results are in, but how bad Hostettler is being beaten - 70% to 30% - is not good for Republicans.
