• Joe Lieberman is the beneficiary of a Connecticut TV ad about to be run by the political activist group "Vets For Freedom", which has already endorsed Lieberman and has close ties to some of Lieberman's top campaign officials and staffers. From the NYT article:

• The ads feature four Connecticut veterans, who look directly at the camera and appear to finish one another's sentences, after introducing themselves as veterans of the wars.
  "When we were over there, it was important to know that someone had our back," one veteran says.
  "Like Senator Lieberman," adds a second.

• VFR has "close Republican ties", and includes among its advisers the infamous Bill Kristol and Dan Senor, former Coalition Provisional Authority spokesman in Iraq. VFR already put out a newspaper advertisement in the Hartford Courant praising Lieberman for his support of the war in Iraq. Will VFR's support hurt Joe even more with Democrats? That's likely. I don't think CT Dems will want a Senator who is backed by Bill Kristol...
